Consultation
Guided by our head tailor, an initial conversation allows us to lay hold of a vision for your new bespoke garment that satisfies your requirements and any details you may find desirable. Style preferences vary to the finest of features and have absolutely no limitations. Preview our latest pieces or convey your own inspiration, the result is a structured foundation to which to start upon.
Fabric
Based upon your consultation, a myriad of appropriate fabrics from distinguished brands including Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Ermenegildo Zegna, Ariston, and many more are recommended for you to choose from. The material composition, color, pattern, and weight are all carefully taken into consideration to best gratify your lifestyle and the purpose of your garment.

Pattern Making
At Tapia’s Custom Tailors, a perfectly fitted garment is guaranteed. Exact body measurements, posture, and walking stride are expertly measured when making your individual pattern. We understand that no silhouette is identical. All patterns are saved in our tailor room for potential future garments.
Cutting Garment
Every Tapia’s Custom Tailors’ garment is cut at our NYC location using the respective customer’s individual pattern. Our master tailors have decades of in-house bespoke experience; we pride ourselves in our consistent precision to guarantee a perfect fit for every body type. While many tailors today outsource this crucial step for a bespoke garment, at Tapia’s Custom Tailors every garment is handmade from start to finish in our shop.
Fittings
In the weeks after the consultation, your new bespoke garment is partially constructed as its temporarily basted to the canvas and is ready for its first basted fitting. A temporary construction of your garment permits any necessary adjustments. A second and optional third fitting leads to a flawless fit that has been refined and examined from all angles.
Finished Garment
Enjoy your fully bespoke garment for years to come and examine every stitch thoughtfully made that brought your vision to fruition. The final garment may be picked up at our shop or we can have it shipped to your doorstep. At Tapia’s Custom Tailors, our customers learn that garments are born, not made.
